Many customers feel confident doing it themselves. Usually, no remodelling or tearing out of the existing windows is needed. Our panels are simply installed against the existing window pane with wood trim holding them in place.
Our art glass window treatments are framed in very strong Zinc so that they are fairly rigid to prevent flexing.
In most cases, the existing window opening is finished in Drywall. In this case, you simply set the art-glass panel into the opening and nail wood trim along the sides, top, and bottom to hold it in place against the existing glass. The trim can be cut and painted ahead of time in preparation for the installation. It's best to use the same paint used on the finished drywall so that the color matches perfectly.
Cabinet Door Glass Installations are very easy.
We provide you with small plastic L-Shaped clips which hold the glass in place.
There is a lip on the inside of the cabinet door into which the glass panel will fit.
You simply lay the cabinet door flat on a work surface covered with a towel or cloth to prevent marring your cabinet door.
Position the L-Shaped Clips along the sides and top and bottom of the opening.
Then pencil mark the spots where the holes will be needed.
Drill the holes and then set the art glass panel in place. Add the L-Shaped Clips and Screws,
and you're finished.
We provide everything you need except the tools.
Large Window Treatment Installations should be handled by a remodelling professional or qualified handyman.
If your custom window treatment is large or will be installed where a ladder is needed, we highly recommend the installation be performed by a qualified professional.
One question the installer may ask you that will seriously affect the price of installation is, "Would you like Paint Grade or Stain Grade?"
Stain Grade is expensive because it means that the grain of the wood will show and great care is taken in the construction of the framework. The look is beautiful but the cost of installation will be significantly higher than Paint Grade.
At right is an example of a Stain Grade Installation.
Below is an example of a Paint Grade Installation.
